Organic Personal Care Products
It has been a while since I last wrote about organic personal hygiene products so here is an update on what is available online.
Organic Toothpaste
Organic toothpaste is still not that easy to come by but there are many natural toothpastes available which are Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) free as well as with no added fluoride. You can also find natural mint free toothpaste which is a good option for those allergic to mint or who simply prefer lemon flavour.
Organic Deodorant
Organic deodorant is available from Wild Walnut and Thexton. There are a few to choose from including Lafe’s Hemp Oil Deodorant, Biologika certified organic deodorant, and Mukti deodorant.
Organic Tampons
There are a couple of options if you are looking for 100% certified organic tampons. Natracare are totally chlorine free, are made without rayon (often used in tampons), contain no additives, perfumes or plastics. The wadding, cord and over wrap are all 100% certified organic. Organic pads and panty liners are also available. Natracare products are available from a number of online stores.
You can find the Organic Tampons brand at Yum Organics which is also 100% certified organic. Their tampons are packed in Australia and the packaging is printed on Australian recycled board.
Check out all products and online retailers here.

Another more eco-friendly option to tampons is the menstrual cup. These also lower the risk of TSS and are fabulous for the environment.
The outlay initially may seem expensive but if you calculate the costs over the long term you are saving a great deal of money. They use surgical grade silicon and are easy to care for and are very easy to use.
I have been using the Mooncup for a few years now and have not looked back and it paid for itself ten times over.
The two most popular ones that I have come across are Mooncup or Lunette.
