the Organic Gold Coast Farmers Market at Miami State High School every Sunday morning is the ONLY Market in Queensland that guarantees the produce is ALL 100% Certified Organically grown The Market is policed and all the produce is checked. All the growers have to be Certified Organic growers. (The ONLY other one in Australia I’m aware of is the Lismore (TROPPO) Market every Tuesday morning, that is able to make this claim.)

    Hi there,
I have been using a market based at Broadway Hotel Woolloongabba that calls itself a Farmers Market – but I am not sure that many of the goods for sale are actually grown “locally” – are there criteria for Farmers Markets, and is there a requirement for vendors to display the origin of their produce?

    Thanks

there’s watercress at the Moggill State School market (on this sat) but as the weather gets colder the growth gets slower so bunches aren’t as large as in warmer weather.

We grow our own tomatoes but at the moment we are putting
new plants in. Where can we buy tomatoes that taste like real
tomaoes, with real sweet flavour. Can’t eat the supermarket
    tomatoes.

    Thankyou.

  35. Del June 20th, 2010 2:16 pm

THIS IS SO OUT OF DATE………………….OMG

  36. Andrea June 21st, 2010 3:36 pm

If you looked at the date on this blog post, you’d see it was written in 2006, so obviously it’s out of date.

Why don’t you leave a comment with info on where to find the best farmers markets in QLD instead of useless comments like the one you wrote?

  37. heather August 29th, 2010 8:10 am

Redcliffe markets at the jetty have an excellent range, from free range eggs, honey staight from the hive, fresh baked sour dough & a huge ramge of other bread, spices, fruit, vegetables & herbs, both fresh & sold in pots. There is also a guy who sells tomatoes, his stall is called Noosa Red, awesome tomatoes. You must get there by no later than 7.30am to avoid the disappoinment of being sold out.
