Organic Vending Machines
Just to show how popular organic food has become, organic food and drinks are now available in vending machines in the US.
Organic Vending, the supplier of these machines, provides snack items such as soft drinks, potato chips, and chocolate, which are all organic. All items are free from artificial colours, preservatives, and flavours. Most importantly they are free from trans fats. They are placing these vending machines in schools and offices.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to place vending machines with these kinds of junk snack foods in schools however if they are going to have vending machines then at least these foods are pesticide free and trans fat free.
Organic Vending can supply healthier items such as dried fruit and nuts and hopefully they will do so. They also have some machines where you can buy organic frozen meals.
It’s a pretty interesting idea but I wonder how successful it will be. I’m not sure that when people are looking for a quick snack they are looking for something particularly healthy. I guess so long as the products taste good then people will go back to them. I’ve tried organic potato chips before and they were pretty horrible but I love organic chocolate. Hopefully they have a good product which will get people away from chemical filled, high fat snacks.
