Organic Chopped Garlic

Danielle at Eat, Read and Be Merry tells how she loves Green’s Organic Chopped Garlic in a jar and how the flavour is so much better than regular chopped garlic.

You may be thinking that chopped garlic in a jar is never nice but I used to use it all the time and never had a problem with the taste. It’s just so convenient and is especially useful when making stir frys or, one of my favourite dishes, pasta with olive oil, chilli, and garlic. Actually, I use garlic in my cooking pretty much every day so it would make my life a littler easier or would at least be a good back up for when I run out of the fresh stuff.
I’m sure there are plenty of additives and preservatives in this kind of product and that is the main reason I went back to using fresh garlic. When I chop it with my super Zyliss chopper it comes out perfectly chopped, although naturally that means there are more dishes to wash at the end of the evening.

If I saw organic chopped garlic in a jar I would definitely give it a try. The brand mentioned by Danielle is not available in Australia and I haven’t seen anything similar but will keep a look out for it. I’m sure it would be healthier than regular chopped garlic but not healthier than fresh garlic. It’d be a good option when I’m in lazy cook mode.
