L’Oreal Goes Organic
L’Oreal has announced it has bought the French company Laboratoire Sanoflore. Sanoflore was one of the first companies to start producing certified organic cosmetics and aromatherapy products. They started around 20 years ago in south east France and have become one of France’s most well known organic cosmetic brands.
This is an interesting purchase for L’Oreal seeing they bought The Body Shop earlier this year. They have obviously seen the increasing demand for natural and organic products and want to get a share of the market. Purchasing The Body Shop for $1 billion certainly did that and now I would expect them to expand the Sanoflore brand.
I think it’s a good move for them which should lead to a wider range and availability of organic beauty products.
