Farmers Markets | Adelaide | SA

There doesn’t seem to be a huge number of farmers’ markets in South Australia but those available appear to be good quality markets. Farmers’ markets are a great way to get fresh produce, especially organic produce.

Farmers’ markets, or growers’ markets as they are sometimes known, are markets where local farmers sell their produce to the public. They have a reputation for selling very fresh produce at a very reasonable prices. Not only are the fruit and vegetables fresh, they are also in season which means they will have the best flavour possible.

Whether in Adelaide or in county South Australia look out for the following food markets:

Barossa Farmers’ Market
Cnr Nuriootpa and Angaston Roads
Angaston SA 5353
Every Saturday
7.30 - 11.30am

Battunga Growers’ Market
2 Marriot Street
Macclesfield SA 5153
Every Sunday

Willunga Farmers’ Market
Alma Hotel Car Park
Willunga SA 5172
Every Saturday
8am - 12.30pm

Please leave a comment if you know of other markets in Adelaide or elsewhere in South Australia. If you are in Western Australia and are looking for fresh produce then you can find a list of farmers’ markets here or there is a wide variety of farmers’ markets in Victoria if you live in that part of Australia.

There is another farmers market in S.A. held near the city at the wayville showgrounds on Sat morns from about 8am - 12midday.
There seems to be alot of good quality stuff there. I,m not sure if all produce is totally organic although it is direct from the farms?!

Thanks for that info Carina, I appreciate you taking the time to let everyone about that market. I’m sure there are plenty of other farmers markets out there too, especially as new ones are appearing all the time.

    Hello
I thought I’d let you know that the Farmers’ Market at Wayville is held on Sundays between 9.00 and 1.00 pm. Unfortunately this market is held on Saturday.
You need to go early as the fruit and veg can get a little light on later in the morning. However, there are great stalls inside a hall that offer bread, honey, Italian food, olives etc.
It’s an enjoyable market to visit.
