Clipper Organic White Tea
As I’m writing this I’m drinking a cup of Clipper’s organic white tea and although I prefer loose leaf tea, I like it. One of the things I like about it is that it has quite a mild flavour but more importantly it is believed to be very good for the health. Generally people recommend green tea as it’s high in antioxidants but white tea is said to have around 3 times the level of antioxidants as green tea. I like green tea but will try to drink white tea whenever I can. It’s not that easy to find as it’s not produced in large quantities but it’s worth trying if you can find it.
The health benefits of tea, not just white and green tea, are numerous. Drinking tea regularly is believed to reduce your risk of getting certain cancers as well as your risk of heart attack. Surprisingly it is good for your teeth as it can help protect against cavities. Green tea is healthier than black tea as there is less processing required in it’s production so it’s best to choose green or white tea if you are looking to gain the most health benefits from drinking tea. Of course, it’s best to choose organic tea if you want something which is produced without the use of pesticides and other chemicals. Buying organic tea is advisable as less damage is done to the environment when using organic farming methods as well as being better for farm workers.
Clipper teas have been around since 1984 and they produce a wide range of quality organic teas. As well as organic green tea and white tea they also have organic Ayurvedic infusions. All Clipper teas are produced with fair traded tea. They also use environmentally friendly packaging which is made using unbleached, 100% biodegradable cardboard from managed sustained forests. Most importantly, the teabags are made from unbleached paper.
There are a number of organic teas on the market but Clipper have a good reputation and they taste good. They do sell loose leaf tea but I haven’t seen any available at my local organic shops. Some varieties of Clipper teas are available online and you can try them here.
